Oscar to Lead World War II Mossad Drama ‘Operation Finale’

THR – Oscar Isaac is set to hunt down Nazis in Chris Weitz’s upcoming World War II drama “Operation Finale,” which will tell the true story of the capture of Adolf Eichmann.

One of the primary architects of the Holocaust, Eichman helped in planning and executing the mass deportation of Jews in Eastern Europe to the ghettos and concentration camps. He went into hiding after WWII in Argentina, where he was found and brought to justice by Mossad.

Chris Weitz is directing the drama, which is said to echo thrillers such as Argo and Munich. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Fred Berger are producing the project, which is set up at MGM.

A fall shoot in Argentina is being eyed.

Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Romeo and Juliet) returns to The Public in this electrifyingly intimate new production of Shakespeare’s eternal drama. Isaac is the Prince caught between thought and action, anger and anguish, as his uncle assumes the throne left vacant by his murdered father. As the dead King calls to him from the grave, demanding to be avenged, Hamlet is forced to choose between bearing the oppressor’s wrong or taking arms against a sea of troubles.

Tony Award winner Sam Gold (Fun Home, Othello) directs theater’s most powerful tragedy about life and death, madness and conscience, and corruption—of the state and of the soul.

Public Theater’s members sales started today. American Express Card Members can reserve tickets beginning Wednesday April 12th at 10:00am. The general public can reserve tickets beginning Tuesday, April 18th at 2:00PM. at PublicTheater.org
